Correct the 10 Sentences
- I had an interested conversation with Sally yesterday.
- We have been living in London since a long time.
- I've just cleaned this room so try not to do a mess.

1 - I had an interesting conversation with Sally yesterday. - 'interesting' is used to describe something (the conversation). 'Interested' describes how we feel.
2 - We have been living in London for a long time. - 'for' is used with a length of time, 'since' is used with a starting time.
3 - I've just cleaned this room so try not to make a mess. - 'make a mess' is the collocation. Another example is 'make a mistake', not 'do a mistake'.
4 - Those were big dogs, weren't they? - 'they' is a pronoun used with the subject of a clause, 'them' is used with the object of a clause.
5 - Try eating more vegetables if you really want to lose weight. - Try needs to be followed by an 'ing' verb or 'to'.
6 - It's hard not to be a bit jealous of her success. - 'jealous' is an adjective, 'jealousy' is a noun.
7 - Steven is taller than I remember. - 'more' is not needed in this sentence. 'taller' is the correct comparative adjective.
8 - If you are bored we can play a game of chess. - chess is a game. we play 'games', not 'do'.
9 - She was born at midnight. - we use 'at' with times. Midnight is a time (12 o'clock).
10 - They haven't left yet, their bags are still on the table. - 'their' is the possessive, 'there' is a place.
